Operations Managers at each location are assigned the role of Safety Coordinator to implement the safety process. CDI has to comply with the regulations of the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) and the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and takes these requirements very seriously.
Rest assured, you are dealing with a safety minded service provider. To assist with safety program design and implementation, CDI has contracted with a safety consulting firm to take the safety program beyond words on a page and into daily real world practice.
CDI has earned a credit Experience Modification Factor, good reports from insurance loss control representatives, and a Satisfactory Rating (top rating) from the DOT. We take safety seriously, and we meet or exceed all safety requirements designated by our insurance partners, USDOT, OSHA, and C&BP.
Safety Programs
To accomplish organizational risk reduction, CDI has implemented the following processes:
- Consistent Screening and Hiring process for consideration of applicants
- New Worker Safety and Injury Management Orientation
- Written and implemented Safety Program
- Forklift Operators are certified to operate the equipment
- Alcohol and Substance Abuse Programs including pre- employment drug testing
- Driver Qualification Files on all DOT Drivers
- Physicals for DOT Drivers
- Driver Safety Education via Safety Readings with test flow back to Safety Director
- Injury Management Protocols
- Accident Investigations to prevent recurrence of loss events
